The Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner released a bulletin on October 30, 2018, announcing a new rule around Short Term Limited Duration (STLD) medical plans. LifeMap’s Short Term Medical (STM) plan is subject to this rule which went into effect November 16, 2018.

A section of the rule requires Washington STM policy sales to be suspended during the ACA annual enrollment period. The 2022 ACA Open Enrollment period occurs November 1, 2021, through January 15, 2022.

In accordance with this rule, LifeMap is not authorized to sell STM Plans in Washington with an effective date in the month of January during the ACA Open Enrollment period of November 1, 2021, through December 15, 2021. During this time, applications submitted for enrollment with effective dates outside of January 2022 will be accepted.

Additionally, LifeMap is not authorized to sell STM Plans in Washington with an effective date in the month of February during December 16, 2021, through January 15, 2022. During this time, applications submitted for enrollment with effective dates outside of February 2022 will be accepted.

It is LifeMap's mission to provide financial protection to customers through all of life’s transitions. We truly believe our STM policy provides temporary piece of mind at an affordable rate until a member's ACA coverage begins, can find a new job, or qualify for more permanent and comprehensive coverage.
