The Utah Insurance Department released a new proposed rule on November 16, 2020 around Short Term Limited Duration (STLD) health insurance plans. LifeMap’s Short Term Medical (STM) plan is subject to this rule, which is anticipated to go into effect March 10, 2021, and will target policies beginning April 1, 2021, and later.

The purpose of this rule is to provide reasonable standardization and simplification of terms and coverages for an STLD health insurance policy.

Due to this rulemaking, and until further notice, LifeMap must suspend sales of our Individual STM plans in the state of Utah until we can bring the product into compliance with the updated regulations.
This means that at this time LifeMap cannot process STM applications for coverage in the state of Utah with effective dates beginning on April 1, 2021, and later.
It is LifeMap's mission to provide financial protection to customers through all of life’s transitions. We truly believe our STM policy provides temporary piece of mind at an affordable rate until a member's ACA coverage begins, can find a new job, or qualify for more permanent and comprehensive coverage.
Our teams are working diligently and as quickly as possible to ensure this important safety net will be once again available to members in Utah. We will update our agents as soon as we release a new solution.
In the meantime, if you have questions, please contact our Customer Service team M-F, 8am-5pm PT at 1(800) 756-4105 or email support@lifemapco.com.
